Newsec Infra acted as exclusive financial advisor to Lundin Energy on the successful acquisition of an 86 MW construction ready wind farm, located in the southern part of Sweden, from OX2.
The acquisition of the Karskruv wind farm marks a critical step for Lundin Energy, allowing the company to meet their decarbonisation strategy – to be carbon neutral across all upstream operations from 2025. With over 95% of production from 2023 powered from shore, this transaction now allows Lundin Energy to match the power consumed offshore with the power generated from their own renewables projects.
Lundin Energy has engaged OX2 to lead the construction and technical management of the facility. The Karskruv wind farm will produce around 300 GWh per annum gross from 20 onshore wind turbines once it is fully operational in late 2023.
